The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has raised alarm over the activities of fraudsters posing as its officials to extort unsuspecting job seekers with false promises of employment.
According to the Corps, the scammers go as far as issuing fake call-up letters to training schools and the FRSC Academy, deceiving desperate applicants and defrauding them of their money.
In a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, FRSC emphasized that its recruitment process is transparent, merit-based, and only announced through national newspapers, television stations, and official online platforms.
The agency stressed that no staff, representative, or third party has been authorized to demand money or gratifications in exchange for employment opportunities.
FRSC therefore urged members of the public to disregard fraudulent offers, remain vigilant, and report suspicious activities to the nearest FRSC Command, law enforcement agencies, or through the Corps’ verified communication channels.
The Corps also reiterated its commitment to integrity, fairness, and transparency in recruitment, warning Nigerians not to fall prey to fraudsters exploiting their desperation.
Official updates, the statement added, are available via www.frsc.gov.ng and the Corps’ social media handles on Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube.
