Newly invited Nigeria striker Akor Adams has added to the injury woes of Spanish side Sevilla’s forward line.
Adams who saw 90 minutes action in Sevilla’s 1-2 home loss to Getafe last weekend could not train on Monday 25th August with his teammates.
Sevilla put out a statement that Akor’s absence from the training was down to simple load management.
However, the forward, after undergoing medical tests, has been revealed to have a slight muscle injury that could force him out of action for at least two weeks.
Akor’s injury potentially rules him out of Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches against Rwanda and South Africa next month.
Two other Nigerians on Sevilla’s books, Chidera Ejuike and Kelechi Iheanacho have also had their fair share of absence with the club.
Ejuike has been in and out of the squad with injury, while Iheanacho is not registered to play in the La Liga.
Additionally Sevilla will be without Dodi Lukebakio after the Belgium winger was diagnosed with the injury, soleus edema.
