Lagos Pharmacists Partner Police to Expand Healthcare Access, Trust

Community pharmacists in Lagos have launched a partnership with the Nigerian Police to improve healthcare access for officers and foster stronger collaboration between both professions.

The initiative, led by the Lagos Chapter of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), was carried out across 30 police formations in the state as part of the 2025 Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Scientific Week.

ACPN Chairman, Pharmacist Tolulope Ajayi, said the programme, themed “Partnership with the Nigeria Police for Equitable Access to Healthcare,” highlights the critical role of pharmacists beyond dispensing medicines, including promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing drug abuse, and supporting security agencies.

He expressed confidence that the collaboration would enhance police officers’ welfare while advancing universal health coverage in Lagos State.

The outreach featured free health checks, medicines, product samples, first-aid materials, health education, and advocacy visits to senior officers at the Force CID and the Lagos Police Command.
