Adams Secures 2027 Endorsement in Eti Osa Constituency I, Rolls Out ₦25m Empowerment

Constituents of Eti Osa Constituency I in Lagos have endorsed the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Noheem Adams, for another term in 2027, citing his responsiveness and record of service.

The endorsement was made during the 10th Annual Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting of the Assembly, themed “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.” The session for Eti Osa I held at Orchid Hotel, Eleganza, and was attended by party leaders, traditional rulers, community representatives, and residents.

Speakers at the event praised Adams for attracting developmental projects to Eti Osa Constituency I and for remaining accessible to his constituents. In appreciation, Adams launched a ₦25 million empowerment scheme, giving ₦100,000 cash each to 250 beneficiaries, alongside the distribution of 100 Point of Sale (PoS) machines to support small businesses.

“I am called ‘Honourable’ today because of your belief in me,” Adams said, prostrating to thank the people. “I will not disappoint you. This empowerment is a way of showing appreciation and helping more of our people stand on their feet.”

In support of the programme, Senator Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni representing Lagos Central Senatorial District contributed ₦3 million, while revealing that the National Assembly had earmarked ₦1 billion for the rehabilitation of the Lekki–Epe Expressway. He also pledged to provide solar panels and free notebooks for public school students in the area.

Lagos Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, in his statewide message, highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a driver of reforms in infrastructure, the economy, and security, stressing that the Assembly’s annual constituency meetings serve as a vital link between government and the people.

During the interactive session, Engr. Abdulhafeez Toriola, Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said the government was working on ways to reduce the cost of energy for residents. He added that more transformers would be provided to ensure electrification across communities, while metering initiatives were being expanded to enable fair and efficient billing.

Community leaders used the forum to raise issues around waste management, cultism, security, and urban planning. Eti Osa East LCDA Chairman, Hon. Samson Agunbiade, decried indiscriminate dumping of refuse and open grazing, while urging swift development of vacant lands to prevent criminal hideouts.

The Area Commander, CSP Macaulay Abayomi, warned against rising cases of drug abuse, reckless driving, and cultism in Eti Osa, urging parents to take more responsibility for their wards.

Also speaking, APC Lagos Central Vice Chairman, Mr. Daramola Arobadade, urged residents to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). “If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain,” he charged.

The event was described as a successful platform for dialogue, with dignitaries including the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Sam Egube, and the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Abayomi Oluyomi, in attendance.
