Gbajabiamila Backs Free Education for Orphans, Vulnerable Kids

The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, has called on all stakeholders to support the government’s efforts in increasing access to education for Nigerian children.

Mr. Gbajabiamila stated this during the inauguration of a new building at “Let It Shine Academy, LISA,” located in Sangotedo area of Lagos State.

LISA is a secondary school that offers free education to orphans and children from low-income communities.

Mr. Gbajabiamila, who is the grand patron of the institution, emphasised that every Nigerian child deserves a quality education and that no child should be left behind.

He underscored the importance of ensuring that all children in Nigeria have access to education, regardless of their family background or status.

The Chief of Staff commended the founder of the school, Damilola Feyide, for providing hope to the underserved communities through the academy.

He stated, “This is a great achievement by Damilola. She has done wonderful work with this academy and is positively impacting lives. I am happy to be here and glad to see what she is accomplishing.”

Mr. Gbajabiamila urged well-meaning Nigerians to do everything they could to improve the lives of people around them, promising to continue his support for the school so it can reach even more individuals in need.

The founder of Let It Shine Academy, Damilola Feyide, expressed her vision for the school, stating, “I established this school to give hope to the hopeless in society. Every child deserves a quality education; you cannot build a great nation without educating our young people, as they are the future.”

She highlighted that the academy provides free education to children from disadvantaged backgrounds, saying, “We offer education to these children at no cost because we believe in their future.”

Feyide expressed gratitude to Mr. Gbajabiamila for his support, noting that it has enabled the school to meet several of its needs.

She also thanked banks, companies, and individuals for their contributions.

She added, “We thank everyone who believes in what we are doing and supports us. Today, we are commissioning a new building as we transition from a day school to a boarding school. We appreciate the Chief of Staff and everyone supporting us in our mission to touch lives.”

Currently, there are over two students enrolled at the academy, and Feyide hopes to admit more students in the future.
