The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) in the Federal Capital Territory has embarked on a seven-day warning strike over what it described as systemic failures in Abuja’s health sector.
In a communiqué, ARD-FCT President, Dr. George Ebong, said the city’s healthcare system is crippled by structural deficiencies that have left resident doctors overstretched, often handling multiple departments at once.
He urged the federal government to urgently address manpower shortages, broken equipment, unpaid allowances, and poor working conditions, warning that continued neglect could lead to a total collapse of the FCT health system.
