The Director General, DG of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu has commended,the commander 9 Brigade Nigerian Army Brigadier General Olawale Oyekola for keeping standard and being a testament of purposeful leader .
He stated this in Lagos , when he paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of 9 Brigade Nigeria Army TA Lagbaja Cantonment, Ikeja.
Brigadier General Nafiu appreciated him for his sustained and unrelenting transformation of TA Lagbaja Cantonment.
The Director General NYSC noted that the Cantonment keeps improving on its environmental looks day by day.
He stressed that he was in 9 Brigade as part of his maiden visit to Lagos State for advocacy engagement with critical stakeholders of NYSC which included Lagos State Government.
He said he deemed it necessary to thank the Commander for his continuous support to the scheme.
The DG thanked Brigadier General Oyekola for keeping to standard operating procedure in the brigade’s deployment for the activities of the various streams in the Lagos NYSC camp despite other operational engagements.
On his part the commander 9 brigade Brigadier General Olawale Oyekola thanked the DG for the honour of counting him among the NYSC critical stakeholders in Lagos State.
Brigadier General Oyekola said that Headquarters 81 Division,Nigerian Army is also to be acknowledged for the seamless and secured NYSC camps in Lagos State as 9 Brigade is only a contributor to the overall plan of ensuring a safe and secured environment for the camp.
He noted that NYSC is an important source of 9 Brigade specialist staff, ranging from teachers, medical doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, among others, due to the unreserved cooperation of the State Coordinator.
The commander 9 brigade appreciated the DG for his thoughtfulness as the collaborative aspect of his leadership mantra is visibly present within the management of Lagos State Directorate of NYSC.
