Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates 420 Housing Units in Ajara, Badagry

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, inaugurated 420 home units in the Lagos State Housing Estate, Phase One, Ajara, Badagry, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to affordable and quality housing for residents.

The Ajara Housing Estate, sitting on 18.9 hectares of land, comprises 35 blocks of 12-apartment buildings with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom semi-furnished flats equipped with modern facilities.

Speaking at the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the new estate brings to 5,631 the total housing units delivered by his administration in the last six years. He also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase Two of the project, which will feature seven-storey high-rise buildings with state-of-the-art amenities.

The Governor renamed the estate after the late former Head of Service, Mr Sunny Ajose, describing him as a dedicated public servant who contributed immensely to the state’s development.

Commissioner for Housing, Mr Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, said the Ajara scheme demonstrates government’s commitment to spreading housing projects beyond the metropolis, creating jobs, and boosting socio-economic growth in new communities.

He added that the project aligns with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration to make Lagos a 21st-century economy through improved infrastructure and livable communities.
