The Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, on Tuesday received the newly appointed Service Chiefs during their maiden visit to his office in Abuja.
Those in attendance included the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke.
According to a statement by the Minister’s Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mati Ali, the visit highlights the Minister’s commitment to building a cohesive defence leadership anchored on trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.

The statement adds that the meeting marks the beginning of a renewed effort to strengthen coordination among the Armed Forces and to advance a unified strategy for national security.
It says the engagement also aligns with the vision of President Bola Tinubu, who has charged the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity and uphold national interests.
