Footballers in Badagry Division have been urged to demonstrate exceptional skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship as the Ojelabi Football Competition officially kicked off.
Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, All Progressives Congress Chairman in Lagos State and the founder of the competition, made the appeal during the opening ceremony.
He said the tournament aims to provide teams and players an opportunity to showcase their talents while promoting the development of sports in Badagry Division.
Pastor Ojelabi advised players to seize the opportunities the competition offers and use them to grow personally and professionally.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Ayodeji Williams, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, urged teams and supporters to follow FIFA rules, avoid hooliganism, and embrace the true spirit of sportsmanship.
Correspondent Pentho Francis, present at the venue, reported that the opening march at Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Ijanikin, featured Asejere FC and Ilogbo Elegba FC.
Ilogbo Elegba FC scored two goals while Asejere FC scored one, setting the tone for an exciting competition ahead.
