The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Mr. Ahmed Farouk, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening air traffic services through sustained investment in its workforce.
Speaking at the Directorate of Air Traffic Services’ 2025 annual retreat in Ibadan, Mr. Farouk, represented by the Director of Human Resources, Mr. Abimbola Ladipo, described air traffic personnel as the backbone of aviation safety in Nigeria’s increasingly complex airspace.
He stressed that while modern technology is important, true safety depends on well-trained, empowered and ethically grounded professionals capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
The NAMA boss noted that the retreat provides a critical platform to address gaps, align with global and ICAO standards, and build a stronger safety culture.
He assured staff of ongoing efforts to modernise systems, expand training programmes and improve the working environment, while commending the directorate for its dedication to maintaining safe and efficient skies.
