NSCDC LAGOS Lagos Launches Grassroot Engagement on Protection of Assets and Infrastructure Across 50 Divisions

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, has launched its grassroot community engagement on the Protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in all its fifty Divisions across the state today, December 16.

The launching of the grassroot engagement on the protection of assets and infrastructure across the state is also part of the implementation framework of the 2024 CNAI National Protection Policy and Strategy as duly asserted by President Bola Tinubu.

While delivering his Keynote speech during a large management meeting, the State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Mr Keshinro Adedotun affirmed that the stakeholders engagement on the protection of CNAI began with a State – Level Coordination Summit convened at the directive of the Office of the National Security Adviser, who has tasked the Corps to join forces in safeguarding those assets and infrastructure that underpin the safety, stability and economic well being of our nation.

He directed Divisional Officers to cascade the engagement down to the stakeholders at the grassroots in a bid to further nip vandalism of these assets n the bud.

He further explained that participants at the grassroot engagement with the stakeholders across the Divisions should include but not limited to Owners and Operators, Traditional Rulers, government agencies, religious bodies, market leaders, National Youth Council of Nigeria, National Orientation Agency, Unions and other Associations.

In a statement the Civil Defence PRO, Lagos State Command, Mr Oluwaseun Abolurin, said the grassroot engagement for all the Divisional Officers across the length and breadth of the state would commence between Monday, 12th January to the end of March 2026.

“It is imperative to note that Lagos hosts some of the most critical assets; our seaports and airports , energy facilities , telecommunications hubs, financial institutions and major transport corridors most of which are found in our communities and as such require serious attention and protection, which the Corps has continued to ensure”.

The large management meeting comprise Management Staff, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Operations and Tactical Commanders in the state.
