The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu, has said the Nigerian Army will strengthen its strategies to combat insecurity as the operating environment becomes more complex and challenging.
He stated this at the closing of the 2025 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference held in Lagos.
Lieutenant General Shuaibu noted that evolving threats across the country demand more efficient intelligence gathering and enhanced surveillance, areas the Army is actively refining.
According to him, regional instability and global shifts in the character of warfare require the Nigerian Army to continuously adapt and adopt innovative approaches at all levels.

He explained that the annual conference provided an opportunity to review the Army’s operational and administrative performance over the year and to consolidate plans for the coming year.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of COAS Recognition and Appreciation plaques to selected senior officers in recognition of their distinguished service to the Nigerian Army.
