Sanwo-Olu Urges APC Members to Embrace E-Registration as He Revalidates Membership

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly youths and intending members, to take full advantage of the ongoing electronic registration exercise to validate their membership of the party.

The Governor made the call on Tuesday shortly after revalidating his membership at Ward E3, Saint Stephens Primary School, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island. He described the e-registration process as seamless, noting that it took him about five minutes to complete, after which he was issued a temporary APC membership card.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Sanwo-Olu said the electronic registration would help the party build a credible and reliable database of members, stressing that accurate data is essential for effective planning and internal organisation.

He particularly urged young people to participate actively in the process, describing the exercise as an opportunity for them to formally align with the party ahead of future elections and contribute meaningfully to its growth and success.

“The process is simple, transparent and efficient. I encourage all our members, especially the youths and new entrants, to take advantage of this opportunity to validate their membership and be fully captured in the party’s digital register,” the Governor said.

The APC e-registration exercise, which commenced on January 5, is expected to run until the end of the month, providing ample opportunity for both existing and new members to be registered. Registration centres across the state have been equipped with laptop computers, printers, power generators and internet facilities to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise.

Party officials expressed optimism that the exercise would strengthen the APC’s grassroots structure in Lagos State and enhance its readiness for upcoming political engagements.
