Support Widows of Fallen Heroes – Hamzat

Governments at all levels and other well meaning Nigerians have been asked to support widows of the nation’s falling heroes in catering for their household responsibilities particularly, in raising their children to be responsible adults in the society.

This is to avoid situations where children that lacked adequate care and home training due to loss of breadwinners fall prey to wicked individuals who use them as agents of destruction.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hazmat gave this advice at the
2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, Dedicated Jumat Service held at Ikeja, Lagos.

While he expressed government’s appreciation to the nation’s Armed Forces for protecting lives and property in the country, the Deputy Governor expressed dissatisfaction at the level at which young individuals were being used as anti -social agents in the society, particularly in the area of banditry.

Dr. Hazmat said it was high time every parents should give adequate attention to the training of their children to avoid being used as negative agents in the society.

He stressed that having the number of children every parent could cater for adequately by giving them the right home training would go a long way at reducing Youths restlessness or being part of anti-Social activities in the society.

Dr. Hazmat however, called on relevant agencies and well meaning Nigerians to support Widows of the nation’s falling heroes in order to cater for the needs of the children their husbands left behind.

In an opening remark, the Lead Imam of the Lagos Secretariat Community Central Mosque, Alausa Ikeja, Dr. Sa’eid Ahmad called on all Nigerians to support governments at tackling insecurity in the country .

He explained that those troubling the security of the nation belonged to a community and if the people were determined to fish out the bad eggs in their localities, the nation would be better for it.

Dr. Ahmad however, thanked the nation’s Armed Forces for sacrificing so much for the nation.

Special prayers were later offered for the Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue to direct the nation aright.
