The Executive Council and members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos Chapter, have paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy National President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Dr. Abimbola Abosede Oyetunde, at her office in Broadcasting House, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Dr. Oyetunde, the first female Deputy National President of the NUJ, was recently appointed Bureau Chief of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Network and Deputy Director of News at the Directorate Headquarters Annex, Ikoyi.
She previously served as General Manager of Bronze FM, Benin City, for nearly a decade.

Speaking during the visit, Chairperson of NAWOJ Lagos, Mrs. Jumoke Johnson, praised Dr. Oyetunde for her immense contributions to the journalism profession, particularly her role in protecting the rights of journalists and advancing the cause of women journalists in Nigeria.
She also commended her years of dedicated service at FRCN, describing her as a torchbearer and a symbol of what women can achieve within the Union.
Mrs. Johnson expressed the pride of NAWOJ Lagos in having Dr. Oyetunde as a member of the chapter and conveyed the association’s hope to continue benefiting from her support and mentorship.
She also briefed the NUJ Deputy National President on NAWOJ Lagos activities and plans for the new year.
In her response, Dr. Oyetunde thanked the delegation for the visit and offered guidance on strategic channels and activities that could further strengthen NAWOJ Lagos.
She encouraged the executive to remain focused and proactive in advancing the objectives of the association.
She prayed for the success of NAWOJ Lagos in the new year, while the Treasurer of the chapter, Mrs. Omolola Olamijulo, also expressed appreciation to Dr. Oyetunde for her time, support, and goodwill towards members of the association.
