Yaba LCDA Chairman Launches Fumigation, Deratization Across Public Facilities

The Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Dr. Bayo Adefuye, has commenced a special intervention programme on fumigation as part of his administration’s sustained commitment to public health, environmental safety, and improved service delivery.

The exercise covers key public facilities across the LCDA, including markets, primary health centres, schools, police stations, magistrate courts, and the council secretariat.

It is aimed at eliminating rodents, insects, and other disease-causing vectors that pose health risks to residents, traders, students, healthcare users, security personnel, judicial officers, council staff, and members of the public who access these facilities daily.

Dr. Adefuye in a statement urged residents and stakeholders to cooperate fully with environmental health officials during the exercise, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to programmes and policies that prioritise the welfare and well-being of the people of Yaba LCDA.

The initiative reinforces the Chairman’s dedication to preventive healthcare and environmental sanitation, ensuring that public spaces remain clean, safe, and conducive for learning, economic activities, quality healthcare delivery, effective security operations, and the smooth administration of justice.
