The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has announced a temporary disruption in water supply across several parts of the Lagos metropolis to enable urgent repair works at the Adiyan I Water Treatment Plant.
Affected areas include Akiode, Ikeja, Magodo, Oregun, Ketu, Ojota, Maryland, Aromire, Ogudu, Gbagada, Shomolu, Ojuelegba, Oyingbo, Ijora Olopa, Agege, and parts of Lagos Island.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the Managing Director of LWC, Mr. Temitope Mukhtaar, explained that the disruption became necessary to repair a leakage on the Adiyan raw water pipeline at the Akute Intake Station.
According to him, continuous water discharge from the damaged pipeline has led to soil saturation, weakened ground stability, and created safety risks for heavy-duty equipment currently deployed at the site.
Mr. Mukhtaar disclosed that the Adiyan I Water Treatment Plant will be temporarily shut down to allow for effective repair and replacement of the affected infrastructure.
He assured residents in the affected areas that repair works are being expedited and that water supply will be restored as soon as the intervention is completed.
