NAWOJ Lagos Honours Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi as January Iconic

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has named Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, Founder of Love of Christ Generation Church C&S (Worldwide), as its Iconic Woman of the Month for January.

The honour is part of a newly introduced NAWOJ Lagos initiative aimed at celebrating womanhood, excellence, impact, and philanthropy among women making remarkable contributions to society.

Speaking on the initiative, the Chairperson of NAWOJ Lagos, Mrs. Jumoke Johnson, described it as a platform designed to spotlight women whose lives and work continue to inspire positive change across different sectors.

She explained that one outstanding woman will be nominated and unveiled monthly, with all 12 honourees celebrated at a grand finale at the end of the year.

According to Johnson, the selection of Reverend Mother Ajayi underscores NAWOJ Lagos’ commitment to recognising women whose influence transcends boundaries.

“The nomination of Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi as the NAWOJ Lagos Iconic Woman of the Month for January is in recognition of her extensive philanthropic work across Lagos State, Nigeria, and beyond, as well as the global impact of her humanitarian interventions,” she said.

The foundation has provided scholarships to hundreds of students in public and private tertiary institutions and extended support to repatriated citizens and other vulnerable groups.

Her philanthropic interventions cut across various sectors, including notable contributions to the Police Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 2 and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Council.

She has also sponsored medical outreaches, supported the chronically ill, and assisted numerous organisations nationwide.

Beyond Nigeria, Reverend Mother Ajayi has carried out humanitarian missions in several war-torn countries, highlighting the international reach of her compassion-driven work.
