NCAA DG Pledges Stronger Collaboration with Aviation Unions for Industry Growth

The Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Chris Najomo, has reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with aviation unions to sustain industrial harmony and advance the growth of Nigeria’s aviation sector.

He gave the assurance while receiving the National President of the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, ATSSSAN, Comrade John Ogbe, during a strategic working visit to the NCAA headquarters.

Captain Najomo described organised labour as a critical partner in maintaining stability across the industry, noting that continuous engagement with stakeholders remains central to effective regulation and safety oversight.

He emphasised that the Authority will continue to keep communication channels open and deepen cooperation with unions to support innovation, operational efficiency and long-term sectoral development.

Earlier, Comrade Ogbe commended the Director General for his proactive leadership, strong commitment to safety and inclusive approach to stakeholder relations, which he said have strengthened resilience and improved industrial harmony within the aviation industry.

He reaffirmed ATSSSAN’s readiness to support policies that promote workforce development and sustainable industry practices while encouraging sustained dialogue to address emerging challenges and protect workers’ welfare.

Both sides expressed confidence that stronger institutional partnership between the NCAA and organised labour will further enhance safety standards, industry stability and overall progress of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
