Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, a Badagry-born governorship aspirant for the 2027 general election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has pledged to build an ultramodern market in Badagry if elected Governor of Lagos State.
Ajose made the promise shortly after inspecting a new market office complex currently under construction by his movement at Agbalata Market in Badagry.

He assured traders and residents that his administration would replace the old market with a state-of-the-art ultramodern facility, designed to boost commerce and improve trading conditions in the area.
According to him, the ongoing office complex project is aimed at strengthening market governance and providing a more conducive working environment for market officials.
Ajose stated that the project would transform Agbalata Market into a modern international trade centre, noting that the market remains a major hub of commercial activities in Badagry.
The governorship aspirant urged market men and women to actively participate in the ongoing APC e-registration exercise, stressing that massive grassroots involvement would position the party for victory in the 2027 general election.
He also commended traders for their cooperation with the contractor handling the project, assuring them of timely completion.
Some APC leaders present at the inspection praised the initiative, describing it as a practical intervention that would enhance trading operations and stimulate local economic growth.
Correspondent Pentho Francis reports that the market office complex forms part of broader grassroots development initiatives being implemented by the SMA Movement across Badagry and neighbouring communities.
