The second batch of the 2025 pilgrims from Lagos State has departed Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, for a pilgrimage to Jordan and Israel.
Speaking at the airport, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Adewunmi Ogunsanya urged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors and respect the laws of the host countries.
Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Reverend Bukola Adeleke, emphasized that the pilgrims should show appreciation to the Lagos State Government by maintaining decorum and being good representatives.
On the same note, the Board Secretary, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, LSCPWB, Dr. Gbolabo Okudero noted that the first batch of pilgrims had set a high standard and the second batch is expected to exceed it.
Families and friends were seen bidding farewell to their loved ones.
The pilgrims are set to visit sacred sites, including the Sea of Galilee, River Jordan, and the birthplace of Jesus in Jerusalem, aiming to strengthen their faith and connect with biblical history.
The departure follows the arrival of the first batch of 200 pilgrims a day earlier.
