The Nigeria Football Federation has clarified that FIFA has not delivered any ruling regarding Nigeria’s protest against DR Congo in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series.
Nigeria is challenging the eligibility of several players fielded by DR Congo during their decisive playoff meeting held in November in Morocco.
The federation is seeking sanctions that could disqualify the Congolese side from the qualifiers.
On Monday, conflicting reports circulated suggesting FIFA had ruled in favour of the Super Eagles, while other sources claimed the opposite outcome.
However, NFF Director of Communications Ademola Olajire dismissed both claims, stating that no official verdict has been communicated to either federation.
The matter remains unresolved as the final inter-confederation qualifying playoffs approach in Mexico, where DR Congo is scheduled to face the winner between Jamaica and New Caledonia for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
