Lagos To Deploy Surveillance Drones To Strengthen State Security

The Lagos State Government has announced plans to deploy surveillance drones in collaboration with key security agencies to improve intelligence gathering and combat insecurity across the state.

The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Ayodele Ogunsan, disclosed this during a press briefing marking his first 100 days in office.

He said the initiative will strengthen aerial monitoring capabilities and enable faster response to emerging security threats.

According to him, the Trust Fund is preparing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Air Force and the Nigeria Police Force Airwing to facilitate coordinated air-based security operations.

Ogunsan added that Lagos, widely regarded as Nigeria’s commercial hub requires sustained investment in security infrastructure to protect lives, property and economic activities.
