African champions Super Falcons will collide with Indomitable Lionesses in two pre Women Africa Cup Of Nations WAFCON friendlies during the next FIFA Window.
The Nigerian Falcons will face off against their Cameroonian opponents on 28 February, with the second game scheduled for 3 March 2026, all in the capital city of Yaounde.
The upcoming FIFA Women’s International Window is scheduled between 24th February and 7th March 2026.
NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, MON said: “We have concluded everything that has to do with the two friendly matches, in conjunction with our counterpart body in Cameroon, FECAFOOT. Our commitment is to ensure that the Super Falcons are well-prepared to retain their WAFCON title in Morocco and qualify for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Brazil.”
FECAFOOT General Secretary, Isaac Mandong, said: “We are excited about the opportunity to host the Nigeria national team and to strengthen the ties between our two federations through this collaboration.”
Both Nigeria and Cameroon collided in an international friendly ahead of last year’s WAFCON with the Falcons running away 2-0 winners over the Lionesses at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex Abeokuta.
The Falcons went on to win their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco last summer, beating Tunisia, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa and hosts Morocco along the way.
According to the Confederation of African Football the upcoming 13th WAFCON Finals will kick off on 17th March to 3rd April 2026 in the Kingdom of Morocco.
All four semi-finalists at the tournament will qualify directly to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
