The Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom, Oba AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa, has congratulated the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, on his appointment as the sixth Chancellor of Lagos State University.
In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Orijeru throne and the people of Igbooye Kingdom, Oba Musa described the appointment as recognition of the Alara’s leadership qualities, intellectual capacity, and longstanding commitment to education and community development.
The monarch noted that selecting a traditional ruler from Ilara Kingdom for such a prominent academic role highlights the growing contribution of traditional institutions to education and nation-building efforts across Lagos State.
He expressed confidence that the Alara’s experience and vision would positively influence the continued growth of the university, enhance academic excellence, and further strengthen the institution’s reputation.
Oba Musa also prayed for wisdom, strength, and a successful tenure as the Alara assumes the responsibilities of Chancellor.
The appointment of Oba Ogunsanwo has continued to attract goodwill messages from traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders within and beyond Lagos State.
