The Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS, BEECROFT has handed over five bags of Cannabis Sativa weighing about 500kg to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Apapa Lagos.

The Commander NNS Beecroft Navy Commodore Aiwuyor Adams Aliu made this known at the NDLEA office in Apapa Lagos while handing over the consignment.
Navy Commodore Adams Aliu said the drug was intercepted by men of NNS BEECROFT Quick Response team around Abule Osun area of Amuwo Odofin during their normal routine patrol.
The Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT noted that his agenda is to reposition the NNS BEECROFT as the interception reflects the Nigerian Navy’s efforts to curb illegal activities within the country’s maritime domain.
He noted that every marine crime starts on land returns to sea and always ends on land, and as such neighbouring countries trying to exploit the nations waterways henceforth will not be tolerated.
Commodore Adams Aliu pointed out that , the operation aligns with the strategic vision of the Chief of the Naval Staff to maintain a responsive and professional Navy capable of safeguarding Nigeria’s maritime domain through inter-agency collaboration.
Receiving the seized narcotics the Deputy Commander of Narcotics Festac Adejumo Gbenga Ayo thanked the commander Beecroft .for the good work.
Deputy commander Narcotic Ayo said the Navy has been one of their best collaborators interms of drugs and trafficking , they have done so well , and would continue to collaborate with them till an end his put to these vices .
Commodore Aiwuyor Adams Aliu promised to get the perpetrators and bring them to book.
