Nigerians have been urged to lend stronger support to Poets and Practitioners in the Creative industry, to enable them sustain their craft.
It would also motivate them to continue to write for humanity rather than abandoning their talents for other pursuits.
The call was made by a Poetic Author and a former Staff of the Punch Newspaper, Mr Femi Morgan, at the Lagos launch of two new poetry collections authored by Mr Uche Uwadinachi of the Lagos Operations of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN.

The two books, entitled “The Constituency of your Lips“and “Songs of a Flower Bird”, drew glowing tributes from established Literary Voices, differently describe the works as bold, refreshing and deeply expressive.

Poets like Sage Hassan likens Mr Uwadinachi’s writing to a gloved fist, subtle but powerful, while Kemistree Bakare, sees the Author as having carved out a unique poetic territory of his own, rich with compelling love lyrics.
Another Poetic Author, Mr Uche Peter Umez, says there is a suppleness to Uche’s poetry coupled with a shere redolent quality that registers in the mind of a Reader, images which are lyrical, sensuous and delightful.
The book launch attracted Poets, Authors , Musicians and Spoken Words Asrtistes from across Lagos, as they all gathered to celebrate one of their own.
Among them was Miss Theresa Emegwara, a Guinness Book of Records holder for the longest make-up on two hundred faces in a single application, she however spoke about her connection to poetry, which has helped her in her creative journey.
In a good will message, the General Manager of METRO FM, Lagos, Ms Mariah Ihuoma, commended Mr Uwadinachi’s poetic excellence, noting that, his creativity reflects in every aspect of his life and work.
“Uche is poetic, all round, he injects poetry into his work and productions and even in the jingles he puts together and when you listen to them, you’ll feel the elements of poetry, making his work very creative, interesting and exceptional”.
Commenting on the two books, Ms Ihuoma said, She would soon settle down to digest the books as there are a lot, to take away from them.
“The work is done, out of Uche’s deep intuition and you don’t give what you don’t have, it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks, so it is out of the abundance of the love Uche feels in his heart and has experienced from his childhood and adulthood, that he pours out so much love, in his work, for the enjoyment of the Readers of his poetic works of his”.
The audience was later treated to a live reading by Mr Uwadinachi, whose verses drew warm applause from the audience.
Speaking of his inspiration, he said he has special affection for women as most of his writings revolve around them, hence showing them respect and always celebrating them, believing that, love is still lacking in the society, as women have not been appreciated enough.
“When it gets to that moment when society can appreciate women more, we would become loving by passing love to the next person easily”.
Mr Uwadinachi said, he sees women as the centre of that reflection that must be celebrated and adored as he is also inspired by the situation in the political hemispheres in the country, which are really nothing to write home about, without actually being forced to talk about.
His projection in the next five years to come.
“In the next five years, I want to become a bigger world stage Performer of these poems, to be able to let the people know that, they need to celebrate women more and the need to take leadership seriously at all times”.
Performances by a Lady Poet, Kemistree Bakare and top Musician, Nathan, added colour to the evening, blending literature and music, in a vibrant showcase of artistic expressions.
It was Indeed a celebration which United the Creative Community and the Colleagues, from the FRCN’s Lagos family, in an atmosphere filled with rhythm, reflection and dances.
