A new Commissioner of Police has assumed duty in Ogun State following the deployment of Bode Ojajuni by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, as part of efforts to strengthen policing nationwide.Ojajuni, the 38th Commissioner of Police in the state.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Commissioner of Police at the Nigeria National Central Bureau of INTERPOL in Lagos, where he coordinated operations against transnational crime and criminal networks.
He previously held key positions including Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Ogun State and Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police.Ojajuni also served as Area Commander, Area “A” Command, Lion Building in Lagos, where he was recognised as Area Commander of the Year, and as Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State Command.
A member of the INTERPOL African Committee, he has represented Nigeria at various international security engagements, including ECOWAS and INTERPOL conferences.
He was recently appointed Secretary to the Steering Committee on the Establishment of State Police.
