Nigerian Navy Arrests Three Ghanaian Stowaways in Lagos

Stowaway is now the business of the day by those who claim they want to seek greener pasture and cant go the legitimate way.


Its so worrisome as some hide in the plane or ship without thinking of the the danger behind it.


A recent development was when three Ghanaian stowaway were arrested by The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft on board a Merchant Vessel MV Anatolia in Lagos.

The three Ghanaian suspects namely Armah Peter, 26 years ,Amisah Daniel 22 years and 26years Amoh Michael, are fishermen, who relocated from Ghana to Abidjan a year ago before embarking on their journey.

According to the commander NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Aiwuyor Adams Aliu, in apapa Lagos, the suspects were arrested while trying to go to Europe by hiding inside the rudder compartment of the vessel
which berthed at the Dangote Terminal

Commodore Adams Aliu noted that the suspects were seen on the 28th of March after spending days onboard the vessels.
Upon arrival in Lagos, they came out with the thought that they have arrived Europe.

The Commander NNS Beecroft admonished parents and guardians to discourage their wards to stay away from such journey as they are confronted with lots of risk.

Speaking to the suspects, they claimed they were fishermen who decided to leave Abidjan by entering the vessel with canoe late in the night to travel to Canada or Spain for better livelihood, since things were difficult for them and have families to cater for.

After profiling at NNS Beecroft , the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Immigration .
