Lagos SA Tourism hinges Clean Environment on Tourism Promotion

Residents of Lekki have been commended for their compliance during today’s environmental sanitation between half past six o’clock and half past eight o’clock in the morning.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe, gave the commendation while fielding questions from newsmen during monitoring of the exercise at Lekki.

Expressing satisfaction on residents participation in the exercise, Mr Aregbe noted that when the environment is protected Tourism and Culture are promoted to the global community, hence the need for residents to ensure regular cleaning of the environment at all times.

What I have seen here today is commendable; we have a beautiful community with responsible citizens who have also joined with the government to see how they can, clean our environment.

“Every responsible citizen needs to take their communities; for me, tourism thrives in a cleaner environment and that is what I want in Lekki,” he said.

While maintaining that the government alone cannot achieve the cleaner Lagos initiative, the Special Adviser on Tourism Arts and Culture urged residents to be good ambassadors of the state and the country at large.
