The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos, Mr. Simeon U. Akpanudom, has called for stronger collaboration among security stakeholders to enhance crime investigation and public safety in Lagos State.
Akpanudom made the call during a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), where he led members of the FCID leadership team to strengthen existing partnerships in support of security operations and effective criminal investigations.
Receiving the delegation, the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, congratulated the AIG on his appointment and commended his commitment to policing and national security.
Ogunsan reaffirmed the Trust Fund’s continued support for the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies operating in Lagos State. As part of the visit, he presented 50 bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets to the FCID Annex to enhance the safety and operational efficiency of its personnel.
He also assured the command of the Trust Fund’s continued support in strengthening investigative operations aimed at improving security across the state.
In his remarks, AIG Akpanudom expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support for the Nigeria Police Force and thanked the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Olatunji R. Disu, for the confidence reposed in him to lead the FCID Annex, Lagos.
The AIG also commended the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for its sustained investment in capacity building, particularly specialised training programmes for FCID detectives, which he said have enhanced their investigative skills and professionalism.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the FCID Annex to the Inspector-General of Police’s people-centred policing agenda through strategic partnerships with government institutions, security stakeholders and the public.
The visit ended with the presentation of a commemorative plaque to the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund in recognition of the longstanding partnership between the organisation and the Force Criminal Investigation Department in promoting security and justice delivery in Lagos State.
