APC presidential Flagbearer visits Oba of Lagos for Royal blessings

The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has returned to Lagos to an heroic welcome of his teeming supporters after he emerged flagbearer of the party at the National Convention held in Abuja.

The APC flagbearer who dressed in white agbada and his symbolic native cap had on his entourage the Governors of Lagos, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Hope Uzodinma of lmo, Former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima,former Minister of state for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obaniroko, Speaker, Lagos state Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa among other APC chieftains in Lagos.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu proceeded to the Iga Iduganran Palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu to appreciate his support and prayers which helped him in securing the presidential ticket for next year’s election.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was recieved by Oba Akiolu, white Cap Chiefs, political associates, friends and well wishers.

The road leading to the palace on Lagos Island was taken over by a large number of the people from across the state to welcome Asiwaju Tinubu back after vigorous campaigns across the country, culminating in his victory at the presidential primary of the APC.

The area was adorned with various banners and posters to welcome Asiwaju Tinubu to Lagos Island.

The White Cap Chiefs and Oba Rilwan Akiolu took their turns to offer special prayers for Asiwaju Tinubu, for him to become the next President of the country.

In a remark after the prayer, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu urged those who are in Asiwaju Tinubu’s entourage to be loyal and honest in dealing with him, emphasising that God detest betrayal.

The traditional ruler described Asiwaju Tinubu as passionate, dogged and courageous in tackling the myriad of challenges facing the country if given the opportunity to govern the country.

In his remark, the Presidential Flagbearer of APC, Asiwaju Tinubu thanked Northern Governors, Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu traditional rulers and other party delegates who stood by him to emerge as the flagbearer of the party in the last convention held in Abuja.

He solicited the support of the traditional institution across the country in actualising his presidential ambition, noting that there is a lot of work to be done in terms of collection of the Permanent Voter Card so as to rally enough support to produce a Lagos indigene as president of the country.

Asiwaju Tinubu thanked Oba Akiolu for prayers and support, especially while he was away on a medical trip in London.

The APC Presidential Flagbearer and former Governor of Lagos, who explained that the highest position held by a Lagosian at the Federal level was a Chief Judge of the Federation, maintained that it was the turn of the state to produce the next President.

“I am happy to be back home. Today is father’s day. Your son of the soil is back home. I prayed for a long life and prosperity for Oba Rilwan Akiolu.
Oba Akiolu “We talked in London for hours about my health status and I told you that then that I am healthy. I realised that you were worried. Your prayer is being answered. I am fit and energetic for the task ahead. You prayers is needed”, Asiwaju said in Yoruba.

Lagos State has never produced a president. I turned everything to prayers to achieve this. We have brought it home.

All of you should rally me in prayer. I need your your support in actualising this. It is not a joke, it is our turn to become president of the country. I am the one capable for the job. Support me. Mobilize people to support us in this regard.

In a welcome address, the APC Chairman in Lagos, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi thanked delegates for counting former Lagos State Governor worthy as flagbearer of the party, describing Asiwaju Tinubu as a bridge builder who has brought development to the state when he served as Governor of the state.

He urged party members to swing to action and mobilize residents for the support of Asiwaju Tinubu presidency.
