President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a ten-day extension of the deadline for the swapping of old naira notes to new notes.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Dr Godwin Emefiele who confirmed this to newsmen in Daura, Katsina State, revealed that the new deadline is now tenth of next month.
Dr Emefiele obtained approval for the extension of the deadline in closed door meeting with the President Buhari.
He said members of the public, who were yet to change their Naira notes from the old to new ones, should utilize the opportunity to do so, stressing that deadline
would not be extended again.
