DSS Unmasks Plan To Destabilise North Central Zone

The Department of State Services (DSS) has again raised an alarm of a sinister plan by some elements to instigate violence in some parts of the country particularly the North Central.
In a statement issued by the spokesman of the services, Dr.Peter Afunanya, the brains behind the plan intend to cause an ethno-religious crisis and ignite reprisals to heat the polity.
Dr. Peter Afunanya said the sponsors have therefore mobilized foot soldiers and held several meetings in and outside their target areas.
“The Service is also aware of a plot to use students, striking University teachers, labor unions, disgruntled individuals and strategic groups as well as exploit the global energy situation to carry out a mass protest like the END SARS”.
He said operatives of the service are already on the trail of the agents of the planned destabilization whom he said are desirous of using violence to achieve ulterior goals.
“The public should be rest assured that the Service will, in conjunction with other security agencies, go after the sponsors of this scheme and ensure the law takes its course.”
Dr. Afunayan said though measures have been put in place to disrupt the tendencies, ring leaders of such plans and their cohorts should desist from acts capable of causing a breakdown of law and order.
He advised Citizens to resist persuasions to be used to destroy their own country while warning those who may wish to go contrary to the law to be ready to face the consequences.
