The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy on Thursday launched a web application, Eko Laws Simplifier App, to make the Laws of Lagos State easily accessible to residents.
The Academy is an initiative of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to honour the life and times of the first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, who was known for the massive development of the state.
At a news briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, the Leader of Team Ace in the Academy, Mr Usman Adeniji said many residents had no knowledge of the law and this impacted their rights and the need to demand good governance.
Mr Adeniji said the Eko Laws Simplifier App, accessible on www.ekolaws.com, had simplified versions of the laws of the state with the support of the Law Reform Commission.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mr Jubril Gawat, said the Eko Laws Simplifier App was one of the laudable initiatives of the Academy which would bring governance closer to the people.
The Eko Laws Simplifier app would be translated into the Yoruba language for more access to the grassroots.
