The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in Colleges of Education and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes in Polytechnics across the country.
The Board advised interested candidates who possess the required O’Level credits to visit any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) located in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) nationwide to complete their registration.
JAMB explained that the Federal Government had earlier waived the requirement for candidates seeking admission into NCE and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), making the admission process more accessible.
In a statement, the Board’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said JAMB had developed a robust admission process to ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted into the programmes, while maintaining and enhancing their quality and standards.
According to him, eligible candidates are only required to present their O’Level credentials at any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC to complete the registration process, as there is no longer any requirement to sit for the annual UTME.
Dr. Benjamin also disclosed that candidates who participated in the 2026 UTME but have now decided to pursue NCE or Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes can convert their applications without paying any additional fee.
He noted that the application conversion process is available at all designated Institutional Professional Registration Centres and JAMB Professional Registration Centres across the country.
The JAMB spokesperson explained that the initiative is designed to widen access to teacher education and agricultural programmes while ensuring that admission standards remain high.
He added that the policy reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting quality education and encouraging more qualified candidates to enrol in programmes that are critical to national development.
JAMB therefore urged all eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by completing their registration at the approved centres, assuring prospective students of a transparent admission process that upholds academic excellence.
