Lagos Assures Youths of Justice for Mohbad

The Lagos State Government has assured youths that justice will prevail in the investigation into the death of the rising Afrobeat singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.

Aged 27, Mohbad died last Tuesday in questionable circumstances and was buried the next day in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, sparking outrage among his fans.

The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe, gave the assurance when he addressed a pocket of protesting youths at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

Mr Aregbe said there was no need for protest as the state government had taken steps to ensure justice would be done in the matter.
“It shouldn’t be about protest because whatever we are asking for, Mr. Governor and the state government is on it. And we are doing everything possible to make sure we get to this right on this issue. We all love Mohbad. Lagos mourns and it is a big loss for Lagos, and we will do everything possible to make sure the right thing is done and at the right time,” assured Aregbe.
