NCAA denies plans to remove Kano runway lights to replace Lagos missing lights

The Nigeria Civil Authority (NCAA) says, there are no plans to remove the airfield lights at Mallam Aminu Kano International to replace the missing airfield lights at Runway 18R at Murtala Muhammad International Airport Lagos.

The Director General, Civil Aviation, DGCA, Captain Musa Nuhu in a statement says, it is not aware of any directive from the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace development, Mr. Festus Keyamo to remove any of the several airfield light systems at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

According to him, ths Kano International Airport, Kano is among the five International airports in the country close to receiving certification as required by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

He assured the traveling public that it will leave no stone unturned in ensuring continuous safety of flight operations in all sectors of civil aviation in Nigeria.
