The plan’s specific objectives include strengthening safety oversight and management capacity, increasing safety oversight implementation, certifying aerodromes, implementing State Safety Programs, supporting regional safety and investigation organizations, and assisting long-term infrastructure planning.

Mr. Tukur’s election as Chairperson underscores Nigeria’s commitment to improving aviation safety standards in Africa.

The statement stressed that, his leadership is expected to drive the AFI Plan’s objectives forward, fostering a safer and more efficient aviation environment across the continent.

The AFI Plan has been instrumental in promoting aviation safety in Africa, and Mr. Tukur’s appointment is a testament to Nigeria’s dedication to this cause.
