Sanwo-Olu Earmarks 5billion Naira for Completion of NYSC Lagos Camp

The Lagos State Government has earmarked the sum of Five Billion Naira for the completion of the building of a permanent orientation Camp for the National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, in Lagos State.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced this at the end of the orientation course for the 2024 Batch “B” Stream One Corps members posted to Lagos State, at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja.

He promised that the Long awaited permanent Orientation camp would be completed before his tenure ends in 2027.

He also promised to give the Four Thousand, Two Hundred and Seventy-Seven Corps members posted to Lagos State under the 2024 Batch “B” Stream One the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira each.

He assured the Corps Members that the government would credit their individual bank account with the cash gift of One Hundred Thousand Naira from Monday next week.

Governor Sanwo-Olu however, urged the Corps members to put in their best wherever they were posted to in Lagos State for their primary assignments .

He promised them that the best performing One Hundred Corps members after the service year would be given automatic employment by the Lagos State government.

The Governor also assured the Corps members that the government would ensure that they enjoyed their stay in the state and make the issue of their safety a thing of priority.

Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked all the NYSC staff and supporting officials from various security outfits for their immense contribution always towards the success of the scheme in Lagos state.

He however, seized the opportunity of the occasion to appreciate the officials with the sum of One Hundred Million Naira.

Earlier in an opening address, the Coordinator, NYSC Lagos State, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa thanked the Lagos State government for supporting the scheme in the state over the years.

She specifically thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for the New Thirty Seater Bus given to the scheme recently.

Mrs Baderinwa urged the Corps members to be law abiding throughout their service year as the Scheme would not condone any act of indiscipline on the part of the Corps members.

The Corps members later gave three hearty cheers to Governor Sanwo-Olu for his kind gesture towards them and the Scheme as a whole.
