Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated One hundred units of newly completed flats at the Bayview Estate in Ikate, Lekki area of the State.
Mr Sanwo-Olu said his government is building for the upper-middle market and middle market, as well as the medium to low earners
”We have promised our citizens and people that we will meet their housing needs. We have done 11 housing estates in over two and a half years that we came to government, and we still have a lot more that we are pushing,” the Governor said.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also named one of the Block of flats after a Grade Level-15 staff of the Lagos State Development Property Corporation, LSDPC, Engineeer Wakilu Hamzat who died in the early hours of today, few hours to the inauguration of the Estate
The Governor promised that the State Government would sponsor the education of the children of the deceased.
The estate, which has 68 terraces of 4 bedroom and 32 flats of three bedrooms was initiated when the Governor was the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Development Property Corporation, LSDPC.
In his opening remarks, Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai said issues that are germane to the wellbeing of residents, including housing, would continued to be given priority by the State government
The Commissioner assured Lagosians that the current administration would ensure that no housing scheme is left uncompleted.
LSDPC Managing Director, Mr. Dhikrullah Har-Yusuph stated that the Housing Estate was constructed with due consideration to the terrain and inhabitants need not fear flooding.
