Nigeria’s Senior Men’s Basketball Team, D’Tigers, departed the country for Angola today 9 August ahead of the 31st edition of the FIBA AfroBasket Championship in Angola.
Coach Abdulrahman Mohammed rounded off his final 12 man roster for the championship after conducting a week-long training camp in Abuja.
During camping, DTigers played twice against their Guinean counterparts who are also headed for Afrobasket 2025.
The 12 selected Afrobasket bound Tigers include captain and NBA star Josh Okogie, Caleb Agada, Ike Nwamu, Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, Talib Zanna and veteran Stan Okoye.
Others are Mike Nuga, Devine Eke, Christian Mekowulu, Martins Igbanu, Ugo Andrew Simon and Emmanuel Omogbo.
Nigeria will open their Group B campaign against Madagascar on 13 August, before rounding off with clashes against reigning champions Tunisia and Cameroon.
The 16 team Afrobasket 2025 tips off on 12 to 24 August in Angola.
