2024 Hajj: FAAN promises Minimized Queues, Efficient Baggage Handling

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured pilgrims embarking on the 2024 Hajj journey to Saudi Arabia of an elevated service experience at all airports involved in their travel.

Spokesperson for FAAN Mrs. Obiageli Orah in a chat with newsmen in Lagos, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring top-notch services for Nigerian pilgrims. 

She emphasized FAAN’s collaboration with Hajj-operating airlines, cargo and ground handling companies, state governments, and other relevant agencies to streamline operations and facilitate the smooth airlift of pilgrims.

“All of us have this drive to ensure that we give the best to Nigerian people. We met a system in place, build on the system that we met and the passengers that pass through the airports they deserve the best”.

Mrs. Orah highlighted forthcoming improvements, including minimizing queues, expediting passenger processing, and enhancing baggage handling efficiency. 

She emphasized the implementation of a new system aimed at facilitating seamless movement for both passengers and goods, thereby reducing delays experienced during previous Hajj operations.

“We are bringing a lot of changes to how we handle hajj operations in our airports ranging from the queue that pilgrims experience in the past in our airports as they are going to hajj and having to queue up for a long time, conveying their properties and the services render them, all those delays, we are bringing in a new system that will create an ease of movement for both the passengers and the goods.”

Mrs. Orah assured FAAN’s focus on customer service excellence and maintaining a hygienic environment throughout the pilgrimage exercise, underscoring the agency’s commitment to ensuring a positive experience for all travelers.
