According to him the implication of this in context is that the ceremony qualifies you both as a student of the institute and entitles you to claim the studentship title and all its privileges anywhere in the world.

” I want you to be appreciative to God and your parents or guardians as the case may be and indeed congratulate yourselves on this no mean feat. Know that thousands are out there waiting to have the opportunity you now have.

“I, therefore, advise you to guard both your admission and studentship jealously and indeed with all diligence in learning and character. As a privileged student, your attitude, behavior, and general comportment must reflect a significant level of sensitivity to the unique opportunity that you now have.

” This requires a high sense of discipline in your study, and the determination to abide by the rules and regulations of the Institution. Please, I implore you all to shun acts that are capable of jeopardizing your studentship in the Institution.

“Let me also remind you to avoid whatever is capable of tarnishing your parents’ good name and the Polytechnic’s corporate image. Your parents’ name took them years to build. The Institution’s reputable corporate image also has taken years and sweat to build. You will be wise and reasonable not to join any association or group which is not recognized by the Institute,” he said.

He asked the students not to be distracted from their primary aim in the Institute, which he said was knowledge acquisition that could make life meaningful and impact your world positively.

He added that striving for excellence throughout your stay in the institution in academics, innovations, sports, entrepreneurial skills, entertainment, and creativity, among others,s, must be your objective.

He noted that the sets before you have consistently upheld the culture of excellence; therefore, you cannot afford to underperform.

Ogun State JAMB Coordinator, Mr Hakeem Abdulhameed, a guest at the event, extolled the institution’s effort in implementing the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPs), a system designed to automate and streamline the admission process into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Abdulhameed emphasized the importance of CAPs in the admission regulations and said that OGITECH has been complying with the regulations.
