The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), Nigeria’s leading aviation media association, is set to hold its 29th Annual Conference on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Providence Hotel in GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

The conference, scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM, is expected to attract high-level stakeholders from across the aviation industry to deliberate on the theme, “Aviation Financing in Nigeria: The Risks, Opportunities and Prospects.”

This year’s edition is poised to be a landmark gathering, providing a critical platform for decision-makers, regulators, airline executives, financial institutions, airport operators, insurance providers, and service companies to engage in strategic dialogue around the financing challenges and investment opportunities shaping Nigeria’s aviation sector.

In a statement, Chairman of the LAAC Conference Committee, Mr. Wole Shadare, stressed the significance of the upcoming forum.

“Our 29th annual conference is not just another industry event; it is a platform for constructive dialogue and a rallying point for shaping the future of aviation in Nigeria through sustainable financing and investment models. We are proud to be honouring those who have contributed immensely to aviation development over the last two decades”.

A major highlight of the event will be the launch of a commemorative publication titled “Celebrating Champions of Aviation Development.”

The publication aims to spotlight individuals, organisations, and state governments that have played pivotal roles in transforming Nigeria’s aviation landscape since the return to democratic rule in 1999.

The conference will address a broad spectrum of issues affecting the sector’s financial ecosystem, including infrastructure development, aircraft leasing, MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) funding, aviation fuel pricing, regulatory reforms, consumer protection, airspace management, insurance, and risk management strategies.

This year’s forum has drawn widespread support from Nigerian banks and financial institutions, many of which have confirmed their participation.

In addition, some state governments that operate airports have pledged their commitment to supporting the event, reinforcing their role in the broader effort to develop sustainable aviation infrastructure nationwide.

Also expected at the event are representatives from regulatory agencies, domestic and international airlines, ground handling companies, travel agencies, and other allied service providers.

The LAAC Annual Conference has grown into a leading policy and business forum for the Nigerian aviation industry.

Over the years, it has helped shape national aviation discourse, promote investment, and foster collaboration across the aviation value chain.

As preparations continue, the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents has reiterated its dedication to promoting industry dialogue, encouraging global best practices, and celebrating those advancing the sector’s development.
