A severe thunderstorm on Monday claimed the lives of Aminu Amegwa Ayitogo and Micah Christopher in Obi town, Nasarawa State.
The tragic incident occurred as heavy rains swept through the area.
The victims were among several people who had taken shelter under a motorcycle workshop shade located opposite the Obi Local Government Secretariat during the downpour when they were struck.
Two others, Mr. Bulus Ogu Iwala and Mr. Abraham Francis Tarkaa, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia.
Medical personnel are working to stabilize their condition.
In a condolence message, the Osuko of Obi, Aliyu Dangiwa Orume, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and urged the bereaved families to find strength and comfort in God during this difficult time.
