Residents Lament Deplorable Condition of Okeowo-Somorin Road in Kosofe

Residents, motorists, and business owners along Okeowo-Somorin Street in Ifako, Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos have raised serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of the road, which they say has become a nightmare for daily users.

Speaking to Radio One, residents described how the road, which has been riddled with potholes for years, has now become almost impassable, especially following recent acts of vandalism by unidentified persons who dug up sand from the roadside, further narrowing the already damaged stretch.

Motorists lament that the road has damaged numerous vehicles, increased travel time, and negatively impacted local businesses due to poor accessibility.

Passersby also have to wade through stagnant, murky water that has accumulated in large sections of the road, especially during and after rainfall.

The residents are appealing to the Lagos State Government to intervene urgently and carry out comprehensive rehabilitation of the road to restore mobility and ease their daily struggle.

They warned that without prompt action, the condition of Okeowo-Somorin Street could pose health and safety risks, while further crippling economic activity in the area.
