The Federal Government will today hold a crucial meeting with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as part of efforts to prevent a disruption of academic activities in public universities.
The meeting was confirmed by the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Boriowo Folasade, in an invitation sent to journalists on Wednesday.
The urgency follows renewed warnings from ASUU branches nationwide, with union leaders declaring that their patience is running out.
They noted that the renegotiation process concluded in December 2024 and was formally submitted to government in February 2025, but is yet to be signed or implemented.
ASUU insists that immediate action on the agreement is necessary to avert another nationwide shutdown of public universities.
