Bolanle Austen-Peters to Chart Nollywood’s Digital Future at NFVCB Conference

The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has announced that internationally acclaimed theatre and film powerhouse Bolanle Austen-Peters (BAP) will deliver the keynote address at the 5th Edition of the Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigerian Digital Content Regulatory Conference (PAO NDCRC), scheduled for November 18–19, 2025, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

This year’s conference, themed “From Volume to Value: Future of Nollywood in the Digital Age,” will explore the next growth frontier for Nigeria’s dynamic film and creative content industry.

Discussions will focus on scaling quality, deepening value creation, and strengthening sustainability in a digital-first world.

Described as the Queen of Nigerian Theatre and a visionary filmmaker, Austen-Peters will headline the event by setting the stage for two days of high-level conversations among industry leaders, regulators, policymakers, creatives, academics, and investors.

Her keynote will interrogate how Nollywood can transition from prioritizing output to building long-term value in the digital era.

Founder of Terra Kulture and BAP Productions, Austen-Peters has redefined African storytelling with globally acclaimed productions such as Saro the Musical and Fela & the Kalakuta Queens, as well as feature films including The Bling Lagosians and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

Her works have toured internationally, earning her recognition as one of Nigeria’s most influential cultural diplomats and creative innovators.

Speaking on the announcement, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Executive Director of NFVCB, said: “BAP is a natural choice for this year’s keynote.”

She embodies the perfect blend of artistic excellence, innovation, and business acumen that Nollywood must embrace in the digital age.

Her remarkable contributions to theatre and film exemplify the value-driven storytelling this year’s theme champions. We are confident her keynote will inspire bold thinking and set the right tone for the industry’s future.

Since its inception, the PAO NDCRC has established itself as Nigeria’s foremost platform for shaping conversations on film, content regulation, and Nollywood’s digital future.

Last year’s 4th edition, also held in Lagos, featured media and film mogul Mo Abudu as keynote speaker further cementing the conference as a convening ground for the sector’s most influential voices.
